High Performance WAN Connectivity with ISDX Direct Connect
The ANC-ISDX is part of the Advance Network Controller family and allows the Adax Advance Protocol Controller a direct connection to the WAN. No need for external adapters or routers, the ANC-ISDX delivers high performance and simplifies the connection to any ISDN network. The Adax ANC-ISDX is full featured for demanding custom applications. The ANC-ISDX is a compact daughter card for APC-EIX/PCX cards and a standard SBus form factor for SPARC platforms.
ANC-ISDX Features
- ISA/EISA Daughter Card Version
- SBus Card Version
- Designed to be compatible with the complete line of Adax APC hardware and APS software
- Replaces external terminal adapters
- Easy migration path for existing applications
- Transparent call set-up and disconnect for TCP/IP, and X.25. Lookup table permits mapping between IP, X.25, Frame Relay and ISDN network addresses
- Automatic dial back up and load balancing with optional switching software
- Low cost dial access to public Frame Relay and X.25 networks where ISDN service is available
- Calls automatically cleared when link is idle to reduce connect charges
- Supports Northern Telecom DMS 100 and AT&T 5ESS switches, enabling connection to most carriers
- Support for 56 Kbps "B" channel
- Basic Rate "S" interface
- Call set-up and tear-down on "D" channel
- Independent, simultaneous data calls on each "B" channel
- Only one Advanced Protocol Controller physical port required for call set-up and data transmission on a single "B" channel
- Second APC physical port can be used for an independent data call on the second "B" channel. This allows for connections over conventional facilities to either Frame Relay or X.25 networks.
- Multiple "B" channels can be combined into a single logical channel
- Ability to connect and switch up to two ports of conventional data terminal equipment using an RS-449 or V.35 interface
- Streams-based modules
- Load balancing available
- DCE, DTE and network termination (NT) emulation modes
Power Requirements Drawn From the Host Card or System Bus
- +5Volts at 1.2 Amps
- +12Volts at 0.3 Amps
- -12Volts at 0.3Amps
Temperature Range
- 0-60 degrees Centigrade (non-condensing)
Board Dimensions
- 4.5"(11.45 cm.) x 13.19"(33.5 cm.) x .062" (.16 cm.)
Adax Hardware is Designed and Tuned to Perform
The ANC-ISDX module conforms to the Adax Passion for Performance Formula. This formula delivers the highest line utilization while consuming the least CPU processor power. This efficiency frees the server from protocol processing and the application from the transaction delays inherent in external routers.
Insert and Link
ANC-ISDX is designed to be modular. Insert and Link means that you can build with Adax from a single card in a Web Server up to a multi-port card rack for the most demanding telecommunications applications.
Direct Connect
With an ANC-ISDX you can now direct connect to the WAN. Adax Advanced Protocol Controllers and Advanced Protocol Software allow a direct connection from the server to the network without any external devices or routers.
ANC-ISDX operates with the following Adax APC Hardware:
APC-EIX --- EISA bus
APC-PCX --- ISA bus
APC-SBX -- Sun's SBus
